73 Lakh Smart Meters Installed Under RDSS Scheme Nationwide

As of November 29, around 73 lakh smart prepaid meters have been installed across India under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The scheme, launched in July 2021 with an outlay of ?3.3 lakh crore, aims to install 25 crore smart meters by March 2025. According to official data, 19.79 crore smart meters have been sanctioned, though 11 states and two Union Territories reported no installations. The initiative seeks to enhance efficiency in power distribution
