Aditya Aluminium, has submitted a proposal for environmental clearance to expand its aluminium smelter and captive power plant at its existing site in the villages of Lapanga, Bomaloi, Derba, Khadiapali, Tileimal, and Dharopani in Rengali Tehsil, Sambalpur District, Odisha. The expansion plan includes increasing the smelter capacity from 3.8 LTPA to 6.8 LTPA, incorporating 1 LTPA of recycled metal and installing 2 LTPA renewable energy-based 180 pots. Additionally, the captive power plant capacity will be expanded from 900 MW to 1,230 MW.
