PM Modi Inaugurates Phase II of Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Rail Extension

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated Phase II of the Metro rail extension connecting Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The Prime Minister flagged off the new route and traveled from the Sector 1 station in Gandhinagar to GIFT City. Developed by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in collaboration with state and Central governments, the project aims to enhance connectivity between major locations, including GNLU, PDEU, GIFT City, Raysan, Randesan, Dholakuva, Infocity, and Sector-1. The new phase extends from Motera to Sector 1, facilitating easier access for professionals, students, and tourists. The total cost of Phase II is ?5,384 crore, funded through loans from international agencies such as AFD and KfW.
