India’s clean energy capacity is projected to reach 107 GW in solar by 2030, with significant strides toward achieving self-sufficiency in solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy, and over 90% self-sufficiency in battery cells. However, the country faces challenges in the hydrogen and wind sectors. The growth in clean energy is primarily driven by supportive policies, including the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, along with tariffs on imports such as basic customs duties (BCD) and the goods and services tax (GST).
