Surat is exploring the introduction of water metro services along the Tapi River, with a feasibility study conducted along a 33 km stretch from Singapore Causeway to Kamrej, and upstream to Dumas. If implemented, this project would make Surat the first city in Gujarat and the second in India, after Kochi, to introduce water metro services.
