BMC Gets Nod for ?1,192 Cr Poisar River Rejuvenation
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)
BMC has received the necessary clearances for the Poisar River rejuvenation project, granted by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Mangrove Cell, and the Coastal Zone Management Authority. The project will include the construction of 10 sewage treatment plants (STPs) with a combined capacity of 33 million litres per day, along with the installation of sewer lines, 13 wastewater interceptors, and roadside drains. Riverbank widening and a service road will also be developed. The STPs will be operated and maintained for 15 years to ensure the rivers long-term health.
