Raipur Power And Steel is seeking environmental clearance for the expansion of its steel plant. The expansion includes increasing the capacity of the Iron Ore Beneficiation and Pelletization plant from 3,00,000 TPA to 5,00,000 TPA, sponge iron from 90,000 TPA to 2,40,000 TPA, induction furnace with concast from 90,000 TPA to 1,80,000 TPA, rolling mill from 90,000 TPA to 1,80,000 TPA, and enhancing the captive power plant capacities. The expansion also involves a WHRB power increase from 6 MW to 18 MW, AFBC from 6 MW to 24 MW, and the addition of a fly ash brick plant with a production capacity of 15 million bricks per annum.
