India to Boost Semiconductor Manufacturing Capacity

India is ramping up its capacity to produce seven crore chips daily with the establishment of four semiconductor units nationwide, attracting investments of around ?1.5 lakh crore. The latest unit approved in September will be built in Sanad, Gujarat, by Keynes Semicon Pvt Ltd, while CG Power is also setting up a unit there. Additional projects include a semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, and another in Marigaon, Assam, by Tata Electronics. These facilities will cater to various sectors, including automotive, consumer electronics, and telecom, while fostering technology partnerships with countries like the USA and Japan.
