BHEL to Commission 9 GW Thermal Power Capacity in FY24

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is set to commission 9 GW of thermal power capacity in the current financial year, a fourfold increase over its annual average. The ?65,000 crore capacity surge is driven by projects awarded since 2017. These projects, awarded by NTPC and state-owned power generation companies in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, mark a significant milestone for BHEL, which previously commissioned 1,705 MW in 2021-22 and 1,460 MW in 2022-23.
