Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Line Reaches Key Milestone with Tunnel 11 Breakthrough

The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Line Project has achieved a significant milestone with the final breakthrough of Tunnel Number 11, a 9.05 km twin tunnel connecting Srinagar and Dungripanth. Part of Package-6, the tunnel includes a main tunnel for train operations and an escape tunnel for emergencies, ensuring safety and efficiency. Constructed by Song Da-Ritwik JV and supervised by AECOM, the tunnel is integral to the 125-km broad-gauge rail line being developed by RVNL. With excavation completed, the project is progressing toward final concrete lining.
