HPCL to invest ?50,000 crore in renewable energy expansion
HPCL Renewable and Green Energy Limited (HPRGE)
HPCL plans to invest up to Rs.50,000 crore to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 10 GW by 2030 through its subsidiary HPCL Renewable and Green Energy Ltd (HPRGE). The company targets 1 GW capacity by 2025-26 and is developing solar power plants and a biofuel portfolio. HPRGE is setting up a 5 MW solar plant in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and a 6 MW plant in Panipat, Haryana, while exploring further green energy opportunities. HPCL has also expanded EV charging facilities to 3,603 retail outlets.
