NHPC invites bids for 1,200 MW solar with 2,400 MWh ESS

NHPC has issued a request for selection to develop 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects across India, integrated with a 600 MW / 2,400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This tender includes a greenshoe option for an additional 1,200 MW of solar capacity with a proportionate energy storage system (another 600 MW / 2,400 MWh). The tender, identified as NHPC-Tranche-XI-Solar with Storage (2024-25), follows a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process with an online reverse auction. The last date for bid submission is April 24, 2025, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on April 29, 2025.
