Kushtagi–Talakal Railway Section Inaugurated in Koppal, Karnataka

Union Minister V Somanna inaugurated the 56-km Kushtagi–Talakal section of the Gadag–Wadi railway line on 15 May 2025, enhancing connectivity for Kushtagi, Yelburga, and Kukanoor taluks in Koppal district. The new line links Linganabandi, Hanumapur, Yelburga, Sanganal, Kukanoor, and Talakal, with the first daily passenger train between Kushtagi and Hubballi flagged off. The Minister urged Karnataka to release the pending Rs 837 crore for the Gadag–Wadi line and highlighted railway safety upgrades and employment generation from 2014 to 2024.
