The Prime Minister recently inaugurated Indian Railways’ first 9,000 HP electric locomotive and unveiled the Dahod locomotive workshop in Gujarat. Built under the Make in India initiative, the Dahod facility was completed within three years of its 2022 foundation stone laying. The Railway Ministry invested ?2,140.5 crore in the project, marking a major boost in domestic locomotive manufacturing capacity and advancing Indias rail infrastructure modernization.
