MoRTH advances 33 port-road projects under Sagarmala programme

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has initiated 33 port-road connectivity projects under the Sagarmala programme to boost maritime trade and infrastructure. Eleven projects spanning 216.16 km have been completed at a cost of Rs.4,085.43 crore, enhancing last-mile links to ports including Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Mormugao, Alang, Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Redi, and V O Chidambaranar. The remaining 22 projects, covering 1,266.32 km at an estimated Rs.23,658.03 crore, are under implementation across coastal states including Gujarat, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
