RECPDCL Continues Empowering India’s Energy Grid: Hands Over Meerut Shamli Power Transmission Project to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited
In another stride towards fortifying India’s energy infrastructure, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a prominent subsidiary of REC Limited and a key player in the energy sector, achieved a significant milestone on April 7th. The company handed over a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named Meerut Shamli Power Transmission Limited to M/s Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL). This SPV was established for the “Construction of Meerut (765 kV) – Shamli 400 kV D/C Line” project in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
MEIL emerged victorious in the Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL for the intra-state transmission project of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This selection underscores MEIL’s competence and commitment to contributing to India’s energy sector.
RECPDCL played a pivotal role as the Bid Process Coordinator on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL). The transparent and efficient coordination ensured a smooth bidding process and selection of the most suitable candidate for the project.
The handover ceremony of the SPV took place in the presence of Satybaan Sahoo, General Manager (Engg.) of RECPDCL, and other officials from both RECPDCL and UPPTCL. This event not only marks the successful completion of the bidding process but also signifies the beginning of a collaborative effort towards the realization of this crucial energy infrastructure project.
