Trichy UGD Phase III Nears Completion with Rs.330 Crore Investment

Trichy Corporation has completed 92 percent of Phase III of the underground drainage project, costing Rs. 330 crore, covering 16 wards, and targeting commissioning by January 2026. Phase II, worth Rs. 377 crore, has been completed with 287 km of pipelines in 25 wards. A Rs. 237.8 crore sewage treatment plant at Panjapur is under fast-track construction to treat wastewater from both phases. Additionally, 230 roadworks across four zones are planned at Rs. 15.4 crore before the northeast monsoon.
