Adani Group Embarks on Renewable Energy Integration, Eyes Polysilicon Production by 2027/28

The Adani Group has initiated commercial production of wafer and ingots, essential components for solar power cell and module manufacturing, at its Gujarat factory. With a vision to become India’s premier integrated renewable energy player, the conglomerate aims to produce polysilicon by 2027/28. This move aligns with Adani’s ambitious goal of generating 45 gigawatts (GW) of renewable power by 2030, with a significant portion to be derived from its $18.01 billion Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. Currently reliant on imported polysilicon, primarily from China, Adani’s foray into domestic production underscores its commitment to bolstering India’s renewable energy sector. The conglomerate is strategically establishing a renewable manufacturing hub in Mundra, Gujarat, with an investment exceeding Rs 300 billion to expand its capacities in solar cell and wind turbine manufacturing.
