Maharashtra WRD delegation reviews major water-infrastructure progress at Polavaram

A delegation from Maharashtra’s Water Resources Department reviewed engineering progress at the Polavaram Project in Andhra Pradesh. Officials examined key structures including the spillway, diaphragm wall, coffer dams, and hydroelectric plant. Engineers from Andhra Pradesh and MEIL briefed the team on construction stages, design specifications, and technologies used in the project. The visit focused on knowledge sharing for large-scale water-resource engineering, with particular interest in Polavaram’s high-capacity spillway and integrated irrigation and flood-control systems.
