NHAI to build Rs. 7,514 crore PuneShirur corridor
Roads and Highways Sector News India
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC), is embarking on a Rs. 7,514 crore infrastructure project to construct a 53.4 km elevated corridor connecting Pune to Shirur. A landmark feature of this initiative is a 31 km six-lane flyover stretching from Kharadi to the Ranjangaon MIDC, which is poised to become Indias longest flyover, specifically designed to bypass intense local congestion in industrial zones. This corridor is not merely a localized solution but a critical phase in a larger logistical network, as it will eventually integrate into a 192 km expressway leading to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
