The Commissioner of Railway Safety, Dinesh Chand Deshwal, recently completed the second statutory inspection for the 14.869 km Banihal-Khari section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla new Broad Gauge rail line project by Northern Railway. The impending opening of Banihal-Khari Railway Station is anticipated, with the entire Katra-Banihal stretch set for commissioning by March 2024. The inspections mark significant progress in the development of this crucial railway infrastructure in the region.
