Karnataka’s First Waste-to-Energy Plant in Bidadi Approaches Operation

Scheduled for operation within two weeks, Karnataka’s inaugural Waste-to-Energy Plant at Bidadi marks a joint initiative by Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike. Valued at Rs 260 crore, the 11.5-MW plant is slated for 7,500 annual operational hours, shouldering 75% of the load in its first year. This milestone underscores Karnataka’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and waste management.
