Environmental Clearance Sought for Mangalwedha Lift Irrigation Scheme in Solapur

Environmental clearance is sought for the proposed Mangalwedha Lift Irrigation Scheme (L.I.S.) in Taluka Mangalwedha, District Solapur, Maharashtra. This scheme aims to irrigate 17,187 hectares of land in the drought-prone area of Mangalwedha Taluka. The project involves lifting 2.04 TMC water in three stages from the proposed Gunjegaon PH-1 forebay, fed by the URBC canal at ch. 94/300 km. The Gross Command Area (G.C.A.), Culturable Command Area (C.C.A.), and Irrigable Command Area (I.C.A.) under the proposed L.I.S. are 22,507.88 Ha., 21,724.99 Ha., and 17,187 Ha., respectively.
