Maitri Setu and Agartala-Akhaura Rail Link to Open Soon

The Maitri Setu in South Tripura and the Agartala-Akhaura rail link with Bangladesh will become operational soon. The Maitri Setu, connecting Sabroom in Tripura with Ramgarh in Bangladesh over the Feni River, was inaugurated on March 9, 2021. The Indian segment of the Agartala-Akhaura rail link was inaugurated on November 1, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s Sheikh Hasina. Both projects are yet to commence operations.
