India Sets Record with 13,124 MW New Renewable Energy Tenders in May

India witnessed a record-breaking issuance of 13,124 MW worth of new renewable energy tenders in May 2024, as per JMK Research & Analytics. Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RUVNL) led with an 8,000 MW solar tender, marking one of the largest single tenders in the nation’s solar energy history. Additionally, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) each unveiled tenders for 1,200 MW. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) contributed significantly, launching tenders for 1,200 MW solar energy projects and 500 MW for wind energy across states. SJVN Ltd also issued a tender for 376.60 MWp for domestic manufacturing and supply of modules for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) Phase XIV solar power project in Gujarat.
