Tata Motors to Establish JLR Manufacturing Plant in Panapakkam

Tata Motors signed an MOU with the Tamil Nadu Government in March 2024 to set up a new manufacturing unit at the SIPCOT industrial estate in Panapakkam. The foundation for this Tata Motors-JLR manufacturing plant is targeted for next month. This facility, the first in India to locally produce JLR’s luxury models, represents a Rs 9,000 crore investment and spans nearly 500 acres within the SIPCOT industrial area. It aims to cater to both domestic and international markets with its luxury vehicle production.
