AAI to upgrade runway at Varanasi airport

Airports Authority of India plans to extend and upgrade the runway at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The project includes runway re-carpeting, strengthening, construction of parallel and link taxiways, RET, apron, isolation bay, GSE area, blast pad, perimeter road, RESA, drainage, and basic strip works. The project has a completion timeline of 18 months from contract award. Bids were recently invited in this regard.
