Environmental clearance is sought for expanding an aluminium smelter in Sambalpur, Odisha, increasing its capacity from 3.8 LTPA to 6.8 LTPA. The proposal includes 1 LTPA from recycled metal and 2 LTPA via renewable energy-based potlines. The expansion will be carried out at the existing plant premises across six villages in Rengali Tehsil, Sambalpur District, Odisha.
