BMC allocates Rs. 300 crore for waste management, bio-CNG
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)
The BMC has allocated Rs. 300 crore for solid waste initiatives, including a significant project to establish a bio-CNG plant at the Deonar dumping ground in partnership with Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL). This plant, with an expected operational timeframe of around two years, will process 1,000 tonnes of daily wet waste supplied by the BMC. The BMC will provide the land, and MGL will handle the plant’s installation and operation, with the concession agreement process currently in progress.
