BMCT Phase II Expansion Boosts Capacity at JNPT Container Terminal

Phase II of the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal at JNPT has been inaugurated, doubling capacity to 4.8 million TEUs with a Rs. 10,825 crore investment. Spread across 200 hectares, the terminal includes 2,000 mtrs. of continuous quay for mega-vessels and six DFC-compatible rail tracks connecting 63 depots. The facility features renewable-powered equipment with future electrification plans.
