Centre plans ?10 lakh crore for highway upgrade

The Central Government is planning ?10 lakh crore investment in highway upgrades over two years, prioritizing the Northeast. Over 21,355 km of projects valued at ?3,73,484 crore have been identified across eastern states. State-wise allocations include ?90,000 crore for Bihar and ?58,000 crore for Odisha. In addition, a non-polluting, 135-seater mass transport bus project is underway in Nagpur. This massive push aims to meet global road infrastructure standards.
