Chennai Metro Rail corridor linking airport to Kilambakkam approved

The Tamil Nadu government has approved the Chennai Metro Rail corridor linking the airport to Kilambakkam and forwarded the detailed project report (DPR) to the Centre for approval and funding. Estimated at Rs 9,335 crore, the 15.46 km elevated metro line will run along GST Road, benefiting southern suburbs like Chromepet, Tambaram, and Perungalathur. Key stations will be located at Pallavaram, Vandalur, and the Anna Zoological Park.
