Chennai Metrowater to Roll Out 24×7 Water Supply in Adyar
Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB)
Chennai Metro Water is set to implement a 24×7 piped water supply pilot project in the Adyar zone by end-2025, aiming to boost daily supply from 35 MLD to 50 MLD. Covering wards 169, 170, 173, 174, and 178–180, the initiative will serve 64,000 households across localities like Kotturpuram, Besant Nagar, and Guindy. Executed under a hybrid annuity model, the project will use IoT-based monitoring and smart meters, with a concessionaire managing operations for 15 years.
