Chhattisgarh Plans to open Two New Super Speciality Hospitals

The Government of Chhattisgarh plans to open two super-speciality hospitals in Bilaspur and Jagdalpur within two months. The aim of these hospitals is to provide advanced medical care to the people of Chhattisgarh, who currently have to travel to other states for such treatment. The hospitals are being built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) scheme, a central government initiative to improve healthcare infrastructure in India. The Bilaspur hospital project involves both an upgrade of the existing Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Science (CIMS) and construction of new facilities. The project includes expanding and renovating CIMS infrastructure, likely adding new departments, labs, and patient care facilities. The project also encompasses building new structures adjacent to CIMS. These new facilities could house additional specialties, administrative offices, or other necessary functions for a super-specialty hospital. The Jagdalpur hospital is a new facility.
