ECMS Attracts Rs. 1.15 Lakh Crore Investment Proposals

India’s Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) has received investment proposals worth Rs. 1.15 lakh crore, nearly double the initial target of Rs. 59,350 crore. Launched with an outlay of Rs. 22,805 crore, the scheme aims to strengthen domestic component production. Proposed production is expected to reach Rs. 10.34 lakh crore, while employment projections exceed 1.41 lakh jobs. The mobile and IT hardware sectors have drawn the largest investments, and over 60 percent of applicants are MSMEs. Application evaluation is being fast-tracked on a first-come, first-served basis.
