Sree Rangaraj Ispat Industries seeks environmental clearance for the expansion and modification of its sponge iron plant into an integrated steel plant within the existing 74.06-acre (29.97 ha) project area at Erode, Tamil Nadu. The project includes a sponge iron capacity of 11,000 TPM, furnace division for 9,000 TPM MS billets, a steel rolling mill for 9,000 TPM TMT bars, a 1×8 MW WHRB (CCP-I), a 1×30 MW CCP-II, and the addition of a reheating furnace (25 Ton/Hr, 9,000 TPM MS billets) and a 5 MW dolochar-based AFBC (CCP-III).
