Godavari Biorefineries launches CO?-to-DME pilot for cleaner fuel production

Godavari Biorefineries has started a pilot project to convert industrial CO? emissions into dimethyl ether (DME), in partnership with the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. The initiative aims to demonstrate low-emission fuel production using captured CO?, supporting decarbonisation of industrial processes. DME can substitute LPG and diesel in multiple applications while serving as a versatile chemical feedstock. The pilot strengthens clean-fuel innovation infrastructure and highlights the potential for large-scale utilisation of waste carbon in energy pathways.
