Google and Foxconn Partner to Manufacture Pixel Phones in India

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has partnered with Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group to establish a Pixel smartphone manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. Over the past decade, the value of mobile phone manufacturing in India has surged 21-fold to ?4.1 lakh crore. This growth is attributed to government policies like performance-linked incentive (PLI) schemes, which have been instrumental in attracting global players and boosting local production, according to the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA).
