Government launches PLI Phase-III for specialty steel sector

The Government of India has launched the third phase of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for specialty steel to boost domestic production and reduce import reliance. Incentives will begin from FY2026–27, covering 22 sub-categories, including super alloys, CRGO, and coated steels, with rates between 4–15% on incremental sales. The scheme has already attracted Rs. 43,874 crore in investments and created over 30,000 jobs nationwide.
