The Tourism Corporation of Gujarat is spearheading a targeted infrastructure overhaul with an approved investment of Rs. 28.68 crore, focusing on the preservation and modernization of the state’s cultural and historical landmarks. A significant portion of this funding, Rs. 20.09 crore, is dedicated to the comprehensive development of the Harshad Mata Temple precinct, while Rs. 3.36 crore has been earmarked for the meticulous restoration of the Gandhi Ashram in Godhra, ensuring these heritage sites remain accessible and well-preserved. Additionally, the initiative prioritizes visitor convenience at the historic Uparkot Fort through Phase I upgrades that include the installation of lifts, a dedicated tourist center, and expanded parking facilities.
