Himadri invests USD 4.43 million in lithium battery firm IBC

Himadri Speciality Chemical invested USD 4.43 million (approx ?36.5 crore) to acquire a 16.24% stake in US-based International Battery Company (IBC), a lithium-ion battery manufacturer. The deal includes preferred and common shares and a board seat. IBC operates a 50 MWh facility in South Korea and is building a Gigafactory in Bengaluru, set to start in Q4 FY26. The plant targets last-mile fleet and 2-3 wheeler OEMs, boosting Himadris battery material deployment capabilities.
