Indias wind capacity crosses 50 GW milestone

Indias cumulative wind power capacity surpassed 50 GW in March 2025, driven by 4,151 MW of fresh installations in FY25. Karnataka led the additions with 1,331.49 MW, followed by Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. Gujarat remains the top state with 12,677 MW total capacity. The sectors growth highlights Indias increasing focus on renewable energy and decarbonisation, supported by favourable policies and strong state-level contributions.
