Indian Railways commissions 112 Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals

Indian Railways has commissioned 112 Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCTs), surpassing its FY24-25 target of 100. The terminals have handled 301.7 million tonnes of cargo, including coal, containers, foodgrains, fertilisers, cement, petroleum, and automobiles. Developed on private and railway-owned land along Dedicated Freight Corridors, the GCTs aim to boost private investment, expand terminal capacity, and enhance railway cargo share, promoting an efficient multimodal freight ecosystem.
