Karnataka to set up 2,000 MW battery storage at Pavagada

The Karnataka government is working on setting up battery storage systems at Pavagada Solar Park to supply power during peak hours using existing infrastructure. This initiative aims to prevent power cuts and meet rising demand. Although Karnataka was previously ranked number one in solar power generation, it now ranks third after Gujarat and Rajasthan. To address this, the state is expanding solar generation in Pavagada to 2,000 MW, with plans to install 2,000 MW of battery storage for efficient utilization.
