Kerala Approves Rule Changes to Boost Investments

The Kerala government, led by CM Pinarayi Vijayan, has approved amendments to 31 departmental rules to fast-track investment proposals from the Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS). Key reforms include easing Kerala Building Rules for road width and commercial area limits, simplifying building permits on leased land, and revising MSME regularisation norms. Resort and hotel parking regulations will also be amended. Departments impacted include local self-government, environment, revenue, labour, and agriculture. The unique thandaper initiative and priority processing of land conversion linked to IKGS projects will be expedited. A dedicated task force will oversee implementation.
