Mahanagar Gas Plans Investment in Battery and Biogas Projects

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL)

Mahanagar Gas has announced plans to invest Rs. 1,325 crore, along with its partners, to establish an EV battery manufacturing unit and a compressed biogas plant over the next two years. In partnership with US-based International Battery Company (IBC), MGL is setting up a giga factory in Karnataka, with a joint investment of Rs. 825 crore. The venture, owned 56% by IBC and 44% by MGL, has secured land and will begin construction this quarter. Phase I is expected by FY27, and Phase II by FY28.
