NCRTC Begins Preparatory Work for Delhi–Panipat RRTS Project

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has initiated preparatory work for the Rs. 36,000 crore Delhi–Panipat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor by starting utility diversion along a 22-km stretch between Narela and Murthal. The 136-km corridor will feature 17 stations and trains designed to run at 180 kmph, reducing travel time between Delhi and Panipat to under one hour. NCRTC has floated tenders for relocating power lines, cables, and transformers, a process expected to take a year before main construction begins. The corridor will extend to Karnal in later phases and connect with the Sarai Kale Khan station, serving as an interoperable hub for all RRTS lines.
