Northern Railway Advances ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Railway’ Initiative

Northern Railway is progressing under the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Railway’ initiative, aimed at modernizing movable assets and infrastructure for a comfortable passenger experience. Spearheaded by the Amrit Bharat Scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the redevelopment of railway stations is fast-tracked, with master plans for 104 stations approved. The 2024-25 budget allocates ?1,538 crore for these efforts, impacting stations across Delhi, Ambala, Firozpur, Moradabad, and Lucknow. Upgrades will focus on passenger comfort, accessibility, and multimodal transport facilities, ensuring a modern and inclusive travel environment, particularly for differently-abled passengers.
