NTPC Green Energy wins 80MW/320MWh BESS project in Kerala

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL)

NGEL has emerged as the successful bidder in NHPC’s e-reverse auction held on 21 May 2025, securing 80MW/320MWh capacity under the standalone BESS initiative in Kerala. The projects include 40MW/160MWh each at Pothencode and Sreekantapuram substations, awarded at tariffs of Rs 4.57 lakh and Rs 4.34 lakh per MW per month, respectively. The bidding was part of NHPC’s 125MW/500MWh tender under TBCB with viability gap funding support.
