Odisha proposes major expansion of Sukurangi chromite mining capacity

Odisha Mining Corporation has proposed expanding chrome ore production from 0.3 MTPA to 0.9 MTPA at the Sukurangi Chromite Mine, covering 382.709 hectares across Sukurangi, Saruabil, Ostapal, Kamarda, and Talangi in Sukinda tehsil, Jajpur district. The mine lies 50 km from Jajpur–Keonjhar Road, with the Tomka–Mangalpur road forming the key evacuation corridor for Sukinda valley minerals.
